This Learning Centre was designed by Dr. Heidi Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs also wrote most of the sections in the Learning Centre (other authors are acknowledged in the sections they have written).
The goal of the Learning Centre is to provide activities to help use, explore and expand your knowledge and understanding about Canada. Here are some sample activities for individuals or groups.
How to Get Started
This Canadian Studies course can be used by a range of learners for a range of purposes. Before beginning the course, teachers or individual learners should set out some goals for the course in terms of what they want to learn and understand about Canada. Resource people can help direct learners toward sections and activities that might be most useful. Custom activities can also be provided.
A good place to begin is the Canadian Studies Trivia Quiz where readers can test their initial knowledge of Canada. The completed quiz can then be used as an entry point into the course when learners look for the correct answers.
