Understanding the Canadian Government through Hockey
While the Canadian government does not have a direct role in hockey, it can help support amateur athletics and programs for young Canadians. Increasingly, the Canadian government is being asked to assist in helping Canadian teams compete with American teams.

- Are people generally pleased or displeased with the kind of support offered by the Government?
- Which branches support hockey?
- What other governing bodies affect sport in Canada?
- Are there government policies which address issues of gender and class in relation to hockey and athletics?
